Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers – Veronica Shoffstal
This quote I read today expresses an attitude that many come to feel after coming to a Preterist, or Fulfilled Salvation, view. When you come to a Fulfilled Salvation view, you cease waiting for “someday” and start living in joyful present awareness today. You stop feeling like “the best is yet to come” and start feeling like “right here, right now, there is no other place I’d rather be”. You stop feeling stuck in a hopeless, degenerating, broken world. And you start feeling motivated to improve a hope-filled, regenerating, broken world. You stop waiting on Jesus to come save you. And you realize that because he is here, now, among and INSIDE you, he has empowered you with all the fullness and riches of God to bring healing into the world.
You stop waiting for someone to save your soul. And you realize that everything pertaining to your completed salvation has been fulfilled, consummated and completed.
You stop waiting for someone else to bring you flowers. And you realize that the seeds for planting your own garden are already in your hand.
